Diabetic foot and blocked leg artery treatment in India with advanced angioplasty
Performed by an interventional radiologist through a needle-sized puncture under imaging guidance. Send your scans for a written plan and estimate before you travel.
About this treatment
A foot ulcer that will not heal in a person with diabetes is often a sign that the arteries to the foot are narrowed. Dressings alone cannot heal a wound that does not receive enough blood, and the risk is infection, gangrene and amputation.
Angioplasty opens the narrowed arteries from the inside, through a small puncture at the groin or ankle under local anaesthetic, using a balloon and sometimes a stent. It is a real vascular procedure, not a medicine or a wound programme, and it works together with wound care and sugar control. Some people need bypass surgery instead, and the doctor will say so.

Who it may suit
- A diabetic foot ulcer that is not healing after several weeks of good care
- Pain in the foot or toes at rest, especially at night
- Cold, pale or darkening toes
- Leg pain on walking that is getting worse
What to send us
Share these on WhatsApp or email and the doctor will tell you whether this treatment is likely to help before you decide to travel.
- Leg arterial Doppler or CT or MR angiogram report, and images if available
- Clear photographs of the wound and the foot, taken in good light
- Recent HbA1c, kidney function (creatinine) and blood counts
- A list of medicines, including blood thinners, and any earlier foot surgery
Your time in India
Most angioplasty patients stay in hospital for 1 to 2 days, then need wound care and follow-up. Because foot problems can worsen quickly, send your details early, and do not delay urgent local care while you plan. Your doctor tells you the expected days in India for your case.
After you go home
Wound healing can take weeks to months, so you will need a local doctor or wound clinic for dressings, off-loading and sugar control. We send a full procedure report and advice for your local team, and stay in touch by WhatsApp and video.

Questions from international patients
It can restore the blood flow that healing needs, which lowers the risk of amputation, but it cannot be promised. The wound, infection and sugar control must also be managed.
That depends on whether the foot is infected or deteriorating. Send your photos and reports first, and the doctor will advise whether travelling is sensible or whether you need urgent local care first.
You will be told. Some blockages need bypass surgery or other care, and the doctor will explain and refer you where another specialist should lead.
Yes. Clinic Seven has one price for every patient, with no international surcharge and no agent commission. Your written estimate confirms what applies to you.
