Thyroid nodule treatment in India with advanced non-surgical ablation
Performed by an interventional radiologist through a needle-sized puncture under imaging guidance. Send your scans for a written plan and estimate before you travel.
About this treatment
Most thyroid nodules are benign, but a large one can press on the neck, cause a swallowing problem or look unsightly. Surgery removes part or all of the thyroid and can mean a neck scar and lifelong thyroid tablets.
Thyroid nodule ablation treats only the nodule. An interventional radiologist guides a thin needle into it under ultrasound and uses heat to shrink it, through a needle-sized entry in the skin, while the thyroid is preserved. It is only for nodules that a biopsy has shown to be benign, and it is not for every nodule.

Your time in India
Ablation is a day-care procedure with mild neck soreness for a day or two and a return to routine in 1 to 2 days. A short stay in Hyderabad, usually a few days around the procedure, is enough.
After you go home
The nodule shrinks over the following months, and the size is checked with an ultrasound at home. We share your procedure report so your local endocrinologist can follow the nodule.
What it costs

Questions from international patients
A biopsy-proven benign nodule can often be treated by ablation, which shrinks the nodule and preserves the thyroid. Nodules that are suspicious or cancerous need a different pathway, and the doctor will say so.
Yes, ideally. A biopsy report showing a benign nodule is needed before ablation, and having it before you travel saves time. If you do not have one, tell us and we will advise.
Ablation aims to preserve the thyroid, so many people do not need them, but this depends on your own thyroid function. Your doctor explains.
Yes. Clinic Seven has one price for every patient, with no international surcharge and no agent commission. Your written estimate confirms what applies to you.
