Vascular malformation treatment in India with advanced sclerotherapy and embolization

Performed by an interventional radiologist through a needle-sized puncture under imaging guidance. Send your scans for a written plan and estimate before you travel.

About this treatment

Vascular malformations are abnormal clusters of veins, lymph channels or arteries that are present from birth. They can cause swelling, pain, a visible lump, bleeding or ulcers, and surgery to cut them out can be difficult and incomplete because they spread through normal tissue.

Image-guided treatment works from inside the malformation. For venous and lymphatic types, a needle is placed under ultrasound and a sclerosant is injected. For arteriovenous types, catheters are used to embolize the abnormal vessels. Many people need more than one session, and some malformations are best left alone or watched.

Your time in India

The number of sessions depends on the type and size. Some are single-session, while complex malformations are treated in stages, so your plan gives the expected number of visits and days before you commit to travelling.

After you go home

Swelling may last a few days after each session, and compression may be advised. We share a detailed procedure report and the plan for any further sessions, so your local doctor understands the treatment.

What it costs

A starting amount for a shared room, in the currency you choose. It is the same figure Indian patients see, and treatment is billed in Indian rupees. Your written estimate confirms what applies to you.
